I Wake Up Screaming is a 1941 film noir. It is based on the novel of the same name by Steve Fisher, who co-wrote the screenplay with Dwight Taylor. The film stars Betty Grable, Victor Mature and Carole Landis, and features one of Grable's few dramatic roles.

A lawyer (Lon Chaney Jr.) in love with his secretary (Brenda Joyce) is suspected of suffocating his wife, among others.

Being given up for dead, Ellen returns home to find her husband Nick recently remarried. Joy turns to jealousy when Nick discovers that she has been on a deserted island with fellow-survivor Burkett.
