Description
"The Blob" (1958) is a classic science fiction horror film directed by Irvin Yeaworth. The story begins when a mysterious meteorite crashes near the small town of Phoenixville, Pennsylvania. A curious elderly man investigates and discovers a gelatinous, amoeba-like substance that attaches to his hand and begins to consume him.
Teenagers Steve Andrews (played by Steve McQueen in his first leading role) and his girlfriend Jane Martin witness the old man in distress and take him to a local doctor. As the doctor examines the man, the blob rapidly engulfs him, growing in size with each victim it consumes.
The blob continues its rampage, spreading terror throughout the town. Despite their efforts to warn the authorities, Steve and Jane find that the adults are skeptical of their story
