Completely New 2022 Restoration of
John Wayne’s The Alamo
· In 2020, we spent over a year and a lot of finance integrating the deleted scenes from the 1990 analog Laser release into our 162-minute Blu Ray master to produce the world’s first complete HD Roadshow version. Our exclusive release had considerable critical success and a lot of happy customers, but it became obvious that the 30 minutes of cuts we edited in would always stand out to some degree and spoil the viewing experience for purists.
· This year, we were able to take a new approach and remastered the Laser release in its entirety as this version was complete and exactly as when first premiered. This would eliminate the need to edit in and match deleted scenes.
· We have now totally remastered the analog Laser and produced a movie that is equal to the standards of early Blu Ray – 1080 x 1920 with a frame rate of 23.98fps and Dolby Digital surround.
· Although not quite HD, the compromise is that deleted scenes are now integral parts of the main feature and not at all noticeable. They benefit, as does the rest of the movie, from the improved clarity and colour
· Each year brings new advances in software and who’s to say an even better version won’t be available in years to come, but what we can say is that we believe that this is the most consistently high-quality version ever released and we are extremely proud of our achievements,
