Ivan’s Childhood is a 1962 Soviet war drama film directed by Andrei Tarkovsky. It tells the story of a 12-year-old boy named Ivan who works as a spy for the Soviet army during World War II. He crosses the German lines to collect information and befriends three Soviet officers who try to protect him. The film has a non-linear plot with frequent flashbacks and dream sequences. It won the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival in 1962
